Rugged Science is looking for a strong candidate to be a key player in fabricating aluminum enclosures for our products. A full-time, first-shift, CNC Vertical Mill Set Up Operator is needed to provide expertise in processing metal work through designated work centers and equipment. The CNC Vertical Mill Set Up Operator will be responsible for processing aluminum through our machining center. Parts will be constructed for production volumes, prototypes, and any other shop or facility needs. Activities of the CNC Vertical Mill Set Up Operator will include (but will not be limited to):
Strictly adhere to all safety requirements
Be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Set up of CNC Vertical Mill
Operation of CNC Vertical Mill
Perform all documentation as required
Change tooling as needed
Load/unload of raw materials and finished parts
Monitor CNC Vertical Mill for processing errors
Utilize various measuring and inspection tools
Perform 1st piece verification off machine prior to releasing production
Reviews/reads blueprints and specifications
Clarifies work specifications.
Perform work within expected rates and costs
Assist in processing prototypes and special orders
Provide feedback to leadership regarding fabrication limitations and best practices.
Follows Company procedures regarding material movement
Reports directly to the Fabrication Shop Manager.
Occasional day travel may be required
The ideal candidate will have the following experiences:
High school graduate required
5 years’ experience in machining
2 years’ experience with MRP systems
Paint experience a plus
Aluminum fabrication experience a plus
Chromate conversion experience a plus
Lift truck training a plus
